Russian drones destroyed grain warehouses at Prometey’s elevator in the Sumy region

10.08.2026

As a result of an attack by Russian drones, the Lebedyn grain elevator in Ukraine’s Sumy region, part of the Prometey agricultural holding, sustained extensive damage. Two grain warehouses and the facility’s grain-drying building were destroyed in the strikes.

CCTV cameras captured the moment the first Russian drone struck on the evening of August 8. However, the attack did not end there. Approximately half an hour later, the enemy carried out a second strike, with another drone hitting the same storage facilities.

Two strikes on the same facility within half an hour are no coincidence. This was a deliberate attack.

Russia has once again demonstrated that it is deliberately destroying Ukraine’s agricultural infrastructure. The enemy is targeting grain elevators, grain storage facilities, warehouses, and production sites — everything that supports the work of Ukrainian farmers and agricultural businesses.

Fortunately, this time there were no casualties. None of the company’s employees were injured in the attack.

“For our company, this is a painful and significant financial loss. Before the full-scale invasion, the Lebedyn grain elevator was one of the largest, most powerful, and most profitable facilities within our agricultural holding. It was an important asset in which substantial resources, years of work, and the efforts of our people had been invested. Today, we are witnessing a deliberate attack destroy what took years to build. The loss of such a facility will inevitably have a serious impact on the financial position of the entire company. What makes it especially difficult is the realization that this was not accidental damage, but the result of a deliberate strike on civilian agricultural infrastructure,” said Rafael Goroyan, owner and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Prometey.

Prometey specialists are currently working at the site of the strike, dealing with the aftermath of the attack and assessing the extent of the damage.

The company is carefully documenting every instance of damage and every destroyed facility. All losses incurred will be legally recorded and entered into the register of property damaged and destroyed by the aggressor state.
